So, what pray tell does Thanksgiving in JH (our city initials) look like? In all honesty it looks a lot like the Thanksgiving celebrations that each of you had with your families. Kim decorated our home with wonderful fall and Thanksgiving decorations. Complete with Pumpkin Spice spray that made the house smell -- Oh so good! We had many of our American friends join us for the celebration. The day started with the Turkey Bowl. American Football at its finest. Final score 54-48. All the Moore boys had at least one touchdown. What a game! That afternoon, twenty-two people in all came to our house bearing lots of food. We had a big 'ol 22 lb. golden roasted turkey that came all the way from St. Paul, NC and all the fixings : stuffing, mashed potatoes, cheesy potatoes, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, corn casserole, pineapple salad casserole, Chinese salad, chicken and dumplings, green beans, sweet potato casserole and homemade bread. The dessert table was packed with pecan pies, pumpkin pie cake, apple pie, and cookies. As you can see, Father blessed us with friends, food, and fellowship. We had a special time of singing praises after the meal. And, we even got to watch a Carolina Panther football game (courtesy of Papa Dave). Although we were 10,000 miles away from your Thanksgiving celebrations, we still celebrated Father's goodness as we gave thanks over and over again. One family tradition that we borrowed from some good friends of ours is the Thanksgiving Tree. Each of us writes things we're thankful for on a paper leaf, we each get a turn to share what we're thankful for, then we place the leaf on the Thanksgiving Tree. We have so much to be thankful for. We hope your Thanksgiving was special as well!
