All the Moore boys recently had an opportunity to head for the hills with some friends of ours and do some camping. We bought a couple tents and a sleeping bag here in town, crammed into our friends Jeep and began our search for the reservior. Of course we took along lots of snacks (Oreos, Raisin Biscuits, homemade cookies, muffins, peanuts and pistachios, etc) and some real food too (Hobo meals --meat & veggies wrapped in aluminum and tossed on the fire, boiled eggs and bread) to satisfy our manly appetites. After several hours of driving, then an hour of looking around the reservior we found our campsite. Quickly we pitched our tents and started working on the fire. All went well until about bedtime. You guessed it, rain! Praise the Lord it wasn't a downpour so we stayed pretty dry but it made for a messy campsite the next morning and a difficult time getting the fire going again. We did it though! After packing up all our stuff, we slide back down the muddy mountain to civilization. Needless to say we were pretty muddy when we got home, but it was fun! We're planning another outing in a month or so for a full weekend in the wilderness.
